Welcome to Hoshi - Bond with AI Friends ("Hoshi," "we," "our," or "us"). Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered chat application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using Hoshi, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide personalized AI interactions, improve our services, and ensure a secure experience.

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account Registration: When you create an account, we collect your Google account ID and related information you set up.

Subscription & Payments: If you purchase premium features, payment details such as credit card numbers are processed securely by third-party providers like Stripe or Apple Pay. We do not store full payment information on our servers.

User Content: All chat conversations with AI characters, uploaded media such as photos or voice notes, and feedback such as ratings or emojis are stored to enhance your experience.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device & Technical Data: We collect device identifiers, IP address, operating system, browser type, and mobile network information to optimize app performance and diagnose technical issues.

Usage Analytics: We track feature usage patterns, session duration, frequency of interactions, and AI response effectiveness through tools like Firebase Analytics.

Cookies & Similar Technologies: We use cookies, if accessed via web, to remember preferences and analyze traffic. You can manage cookie settings in your browser.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data responsibly to deliver and enhance our Service:

AI Personalization: Analyze chat history and preferences to tailor AI characters' personalities, dialogue styles, and relationship dynamics, such as adapting responses based on your emotional tone.

Model Training: Anonymized chat data may be used to train machine learning algorithms for natural language processing. No personally identifiable information is included in training datasets.

Security & Fraud Prevention: Detect and prevent unauthorized access, spam, or abusive behavior through pattern analysis.

Customer Support: Resolve technical issues and respond to inquiries using your account details and interaction history.

Legal Compliance: Fulfill obligations under applicable laws, such as tax reporting or responding to court orders.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We only share information under strict conditions:

Third Party Access: Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

  • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • When they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • With their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

Legal Requirements: Disclose information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or protect against legal liability.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you of any changes to data ownership.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Your Rights & Choices

How to Delete Your Account

  1. Open the Hoshi-Bond app and go to the Home Page.
  2. Tap the "My" section at the bottom-right corner.
  3. Click the Settings icon at the top-right.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and select "Delete Account".

Important Notes

Deleted Data: User profile information, chat history, AI interactions, and app customization settings.

Retained Data: Purchase records for financial compliance and aggregated anonymous usage data.

All account data will be permanently deleted within 72 hours of request.

6. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in other locations where our service providers operate. We ensure transfers comply with legal frameworks such as:

  • The EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
  • Standard Contractual Clauses for GDPR compliance.

7. Children's Privacy

Hoshi is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided information without consent, contact us immediately for account deletion.

8. Data Retention

Active Accounts: Retained until you request deletion.

Inactive Accounts: Data is anonymized or deleted after 24 months of inactivity.

Legal Holds: Certain data may be retained longer to comply with legal obligations.

9. Policy Updates

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes, such as new data uses, will be announced via:

  • In-app notifications.
  • Email to registered users.
  • A revised "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
